KEIGHTLEY won 3 GOLD medals at the AK International Judo Comp. Gold in both cadet & Junior men's grade, he also recorded a first claiming gold in the Snr men's division, Chronicle 1/8/18.

KEIGHTLEY 6 medal haul at Waikato Bays Open in Rotorua; 5 GOLDS & 1 BRONZE. Entering multiple divisions, he WON the Cadet Open, Cadet +81kg, Jnr Men's Open, Jnr Men +100kg & Snr Men's +100kg, while coming 3rd Snr Men's Open. Ex student Finn Brown won Snr Men's U73kg title & overcame the current No 1 ranked national fighter in his grade, Chronicle 5/6/18.

Keightley Watson has taken a reluctant four to six week break from training through injury (fractured fibula) that was forced his withdrawal from the Oceania Champs in New Caledonia, Chronicle 5/4/18.

Competing in the Bremen Master Open in Germany, Keightley had a strong start with a win first up but took a knock to his fibula bone on his leg. He continued on into the next fight & was leading on points, but further knocks to the area meant that he could not continue & subsequently withdrew from the competition to get x-rays on the damage done. They revealed a hairline crack of the fibula, Chronicle 29/3/18.
