Fine Arts Whanganui encourages young artists between the ages of 15 and 22 to pick up an entry form and enter work for the Young Artist Scholarship 2018.

An exhibition of work from the top ten finalists will open at Fine Arts Whanganui following judging and the close of entries.

"We would like all young artists to be aware of this wonderful opportunity to submit their work for the scholarship, which has an award of $1000 sponsored by the Fine Arts Whanganui Gallery and a people's choice award of $200, sponsored by Furnique," said co-ordinator Jim Norris.

The main award also involves an opportunity to hold a solo exhibition in June next year at the Fine Arts Whanganui Gallery on Taupo Quay.

"A member of the Fine Arts Whanganui collective will be available to help guide them through the process of preparing for this exhibition," said Norris.

"We are proud, and excited, to be hosting this event and hope supporters will encourage as many as possible of the young artists in the Rangitikei, Ruapehu and Whanganui regions to submit an entry."

Entry forms are available Online or hard copy can be picked up from the Fine Arts Whanganui Gallery, 17 Taupo Quay, Whanganui. Portfolios of work for entries will be received between November 9 and 16, 2018.
