All of these courses are challenging and offer learning opportunities from Year 9 to Year 13 including University Entrance qualifications. All of these courses are optional.

We can offer courses in all aspects of technology education including Materials Technology, Textiles and Design Technology, and Design and Visual Communication.

We can also offer a full range of courses in Food and Nutrition and Hospitality. The Hospitality course has a very strong vocational focus and students in these courses have had great success at local, regional and national culinary competitions.

Whanganui High School also delivers courses with a vocational focus in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology, and Building and Construction.

This Faculty has specialist and quality facilities that enable students to learn knowledge and skills suitable and specific to each of the subject areas including an automotive workshop with a new hoist, three materials workshops with laser cutting facilities, a textiles and sewing room and two full kitchens for Food and Nutrition, and Hospitality.

This a dynamic learning area with lots of innovation for students to engage with. They can work to their own strengths and passions, finding success in their own learning.
