An πŸ’›AWESOMEπŸ’š night for Whanganui High School at the Whanganui Secondary School Sports Awards last night coming away with 8 of the 12 prestigious awards!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

WSS Official of the Year - Charlie Brown (Football)

WSS Coach of the Year - Connor Hoskin (Hockey)

WSS National Junior Sportsman of the Year - Zane Mills-Nossiter (Sprint Kayaking)

WSS National Senior Sportswomen of the Year - Rebecca Baker (Hockey & Athletics)

WSS National Senior Sportsman of the Year - Travis Bayler (Athletics)

WSS International Junior Sportsman of the Year - Alex Hamblyn (Sprint Kayaking)

WSS International Senior Sportswomen of the Year - Renee Teers (Speed Skating)

WSS International Senior Sportsman of the Year - Keightley Watson (Judo)

We also had 'recognition of performance in local competition' 1st XI Boys Hockey & Phillips Electrical A1 Netball

Contribution to Sport - 14 students were recognised for their dedication they have given to coaching, managing or officiating our school teams.

Three of the top awards were given to Renee, Rebecca and Travis who are all part of our Sports Performance Programme with Coach Greg Fromont at WHS πŸ‘

Both Guest speakers were ex students of WHS that have gone on to represent NZ in their sports - Max Brown (Sprint Kayaking) and Sosoli Talawadua (Black Ferns Rugby)

Absolutely outstanding achievements by EVERYONE nominated from WHS ....woohoo!!! πŸ’›πŸ’š
