Whanganui High School Sports

Whanganui High School head off to compete at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Track and Field Champs 2025 in Hastings tomorrow until Sunday.

Final selections over the last month have resulted in a team of 21 athletes who have qualified through their recent top performances to compete.

The team consists of 6 senior boys, 3 senior girls, 9 Junior boys and 3 junior girls.

We have high hopes of some outstanding performance over the 3 days of competition against 1100 of the best age group athletes N.Z has to offer.

James McGregor, Auguz Thongskul, Lennox Brotherton, Darcy Johnston, Lucas Howard, Jonny Edward-Bish, Charlie McBride, Ethan Wells, Bruce McGregor, Alex Payne, Sean Frieslaar, Reiley Thomas, Xavier Brotherton, Tyler O'Brien, Joshua Richardson, Lulu Dufty, Amy Davidson, Kaylee Bisschoff, Hannah Cameron, Olive Coombs and Jaimie Munro.

We wish the team and coaches Greg Fromont and Elaine Baker all the very best.

We welcome back ex students and top athletes Nat Kirk and Charlotte Baker who will also be helping our team over the weekend. 💚💛💚💛
