Whanganui High School Sports
Congratulations to the 13 Whanganui High School students selected to represent Whanganui in the Under-18 Men's and Women's Hockey teams. This year was the first time in over a decade that Whanganui has fielded two U18 national teams.
The teams were proudly captained by WHS students Xavier Booth and Ava Higgins. Over the past week, the Men's tournament was held in Tauranga, while the Women's tournament took place in Palmerston North.
Both teams played with grit and determination and represented Whanganui with pride. They showed resilience throughout the week, competing fiercely against some of the country's strongest teams.
Congratulations also to former WHS student Thomas Dwyer on his selection as an umpire for the recent Under-18 Men's National Hockey Tournament. This is a fantastic achievement and recognition of the hard work and dedication he has put into his umpiring.
Congratulations, you should all be incredibly proud of your efforts. Well done!
