Cooking up a storm in Taranaki

Olea Drummond GOLD Medal NSSCC dish - Carrot Pate with Carrot Bread and Carrot Butter.


The culinary team consisting of Britney Walsh, Kelahn Te Awhe, Olea Drummond, Caitlyn Butlin, Glachyus Quennell-Toia and Andrew Wong competed in the regional NZ Chefs cooking competitions held in New Plymouth on Monday 27 May.

They brought back 12 medals - 8 bronze, 3 silver and one gold competing in the static cupcake and cheesecake competition, as well as the hot kitchen events which were Fonterra cheese omelette and the National Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge.

National Secondary Schools Culinary Competition (NSSCC) – 2 entrees in 60 minutes with carrot as the star of the dish per competitor.
