Metal music fans are in for a treat this Saturday night as four live bands, including Drxnes will perform in the Charlie Berntsen clubrooms at Oceanview Speedway on Saturday night.

Whanganui bands Mr Sudden Death and Drxnes (former WHS students) will be joined by Precursor from Palmerston North and Pale Flag from Auckland.

Pale Flag formed last year and feature Whanganui-born guitarist Liam Donald.

The band say they play "hard-hitting original music aimed to get the crowd moshing".

The three-piece Mr Sudden Death play a mix of punk, rock, grunge, metal, rap, sludge, country, doom and alternative music.

Drxnes are reputed to produce "mean sound from an awesome bunch of musicians" and the 5-year-old Palmerston North band seem to be a bit of a mystery.

Curious punters can find out more on Saturday night and there will be a complimentary courtesy coach to transport people to and from the venue.

Those who would like a ride to Oceanview should call 021 0231 7276 to make a booking.

Pick up is outside Property Brokers by the City Bridge and drop off will be at the Red Lion afterwards.

Wanganui Metal Assault: Charlie Berntsen Clubrooms, Oceanview Speedway, Landguard Rd, Whanganui. Saturday, March 30 from 8pm. Entry $15 at the gate.
