Four students who attended St Marcellan School and then Whanganui High School have been selected to represent New Zealand Touch Rugby teams.

For Ruhia Tamati and Mitchell Millar it will be their second campaign in the New Zealand Touch singlet while twins Tyronne and Kelly Houltham will both be on their debut tour.

Ruhia is in the Women’s Touch team and the other three are in the Under 20 Mixed Touch team. They will be participating in the World Cup of Youth in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in August.

All players were part of the Whanganui mixed touch team at some stage over the four years run in which the team made the Finals of The NZ Secondary Schools Mixed Grade, winning two of them in 2015-2016. All have come through the Whanganui Touch rep system playing since Under 10/12 grades.

Their coach at Whanganui High School, Sean Brown, was Whanganui’s Coach of the Year in 2016.
