NZ # 1.... Gold Medal for Matthew Wright and Nathan Luff in the BU18 LW double at Maadi Cup, Rotorua on Saturday 9 April 2016.

Bronze Medal Winner U18 single - Nathan Luff.

Absolutely outstanding boys!!

Other great results:
Our U18 coxed quad of Matthew Wright, Nathan Luff, Guy Thomson, Ben Tijsen-Cox and Rylee Dudley (cox) raced the A Final coming 5th in NZ. 
Our U17 double of Ben and Kyle Ryland were also in A Final coming 7th in NZ.

Great finish to a wonderful week for the WHS Maadi Cup Squad.

Wanganui High rowers rule again

WELL-EARNED: Co-coaches Luke Watts (left) and Ian Weenink applaud the gold-winning performance of Wanganui High School rowers Matthew Wright and Nathan Luff in Twizel at the weekend.

The pair claimed the Aon Maadi Cup boys' under-18 lightweight doubles title to go with their North Island gold earlier in the season.

WHS sport co-ordinator Lisa Murphy said the achievement was the pinnacle for the team competing at the national secondary schools regatta on Lake Ruataniwha and just reward for the long hours of hard work and dedication.

WHS also returned home with bronze claimed by Luff in the boys under-18 single sculls.
