Inter-school Motocross Challenge - six students competing

Good Luck to our 6 boys heading away this weekend for Motocross. Here is a report from Joe Wainhouse about the weekend..
On Friday 18 March, six Wanganui High School students, including Joe Wainhouse, Jordan Hatch, Lance Barron, Tom Gilligan, Anton Montague and Jaxon Watt, will be competing in the 2016 Inter-school Motocross Challenge being held in Rotorua.
This is the biggest secondary school motocross event in the country with over 250 individual entries.
There are 7 classes that will get three races each over the course of the day.
Joe and Jordan will be competing in the 15-18 yrs 250cc class,
Tom and Lance will be competing in the 15-18 yrs 125cc class,
Anton will be competing in the 13-14 125/250cc class and
Jaxon will be competing in the 13-16 yrs 85cc class.
Each race will see 40 riders lining up on the start gate and racing over about a 2 km track.
At the end of the day there is a prizegiving for individual placings and the overall Inter-school Challenge trophy is awarded to the school with the most points across all classes.
