Schools share sailing honours - March 2016

SAILING AWAY: Overall Wanganui Schools sailing Regatta winner Jack Southee (WHS) is flanked portside by third-placed Felix Schrider (WCS) with second-placed Tom Evans (WCS) starboard.

TWO prominent schools shared top honours in the recent annual Wanganui Schools Sailing Regatta, with Wanganui High School claiming the overall win.

Held on the Whanganui River in good, sunny conditions with only a slight, pleasant breeze, organisers were able to run five races for the different classes of dinghies competing. Results were calculated using a standard handicap system. Although numbers were down compared to other years, the standard of sailing was good.
