Season starts on dirt

Whanganui's Oliver Dennison (WHS student) will be hoping to run in the Top 3 of the 14-16 250cc class, which will be great build up for the NZ Junior Motocross championships next weekend in New Plymouth.
Tomorrow will see the return of the roar as the Wanganui Motorcycle Club's winter motorcross series gets underway.
The five-round Harvey Round Motors Isuzu Winter Championships are held on a monthly basis at the club's domain on Landguard Rd beside Oceanview Speedway.
One of the biggest series on the North Island's west coast, the championsips cater for all classes with mini riders as young as five right through to veterans 55 years plus.
As well as the locals, guest riders from Wellington through to New Plymouth will also attend, with the club expecting around 170 riders in total.
Racing will be held from 10am through to 4pm.
