Swimmers results from Wellington Regional Champs - July 2015

Wellington winter (short course) champs is one of the largest short course (25 meter pool) events in the country behind only Auckland and NZ champs.  It was held at the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre, Kilbirnie, Wellington on 18 & 19 July.

High school swimmers did really well with Sarya Nuitau (Lower) year 9 winning gold in the 13 year old 200 medley and 100 freestyle.  She also won bronze in the 50 butterfly and the 50 and 200 breaststroke and was 4th in the 400 freestyle.

Elena Forlong (year 12) won gold in the 16/17 year olds 50 butterfly and was placed in the top 10 (finalist) in the 100 backstroke the open 800 freestyle the 200 medley and the 100 freestyle.

Alex Forlong (year 10) had top 10 (finalist) finishes in the 14 year old girls 100 and 200 backstroke. 

Unfortunately some of the girls stronger events are in the second half of the program next weekend and the team is not able to attend.
