WSS Cross Country Results

Whanganui High School took a team of 42 students to the WSS Cross Country held at Collegiate School yesterday afternoon.

Paris Munro Year 9 finished 7th in her race, with the Y9 Girls 3 to score and 6 to score team coming 2nd, while our Y9 boys race took out the 6 to score title in their race, with Blair Gowan finishing 3rd overall

The Junior and Senior Girls ran their race together with Year 11 Rebecca Baker comfortably winning ahead of talented senior runners and taking out the Junior Girls title. Our Junior Girls team got 2nd in the 3 to score team event. 

In the Junior and Senior Boys combined race WHS lead all the way in the Senior Boys with Liam Jones 1st, Connor Munro 2nd and Travis Bayler 3rd. The Senior Boys also took out the 3 to score and 6 to score. Our Junior Boys raced well with Ethan Cox finishing 3rd and Connor Hoskin 4th, with the team finishing 2nd in the 3 to score and 6 to score event. 

Coach Greg Fromont was extremely pleased with the overall results for the day from his runners. 

Fromont will now take a team of 9 to the NZ Secondary School Nationals in Christchurch on June 16th-18th.
