Young guns bring home silverware

PODIUM FINISH: Whanganui's Ollie Dennison finished second in his class at the Epic Events four-hour endurance race in Taupo.

Whanganui motorcross riders have returned from the Epic Events endurance race in Taupo with two juniors claiming second placings.

More than 300 riders competed in the event which include a four-hour endurance race for senior and a 90-minute race for juniors.

Balance Chartered Accountants Wanganui Motorcycle Club riders, WHS student Ollie Dennison (13-14 years class) and Riki Wainhouse (11-12 years class) both finished second while James Rountree finished sixth in the 13-14 year class.

Among the senior riders, Colin Matthews and Ant Rountree teamed up to finish fourth overall in the 80+ (combined ages).

Father and son Shane and Joe Wainhouse both entered the four-hour ironman but didn't place.
